AERIN is a wireless broadband digital wide-area, IP-based network solution developed by ILLUMINAT to provide connectivity from point-to-point and point-to-multi-point which facilitates the transference of voice, data and video over a network.

The Package

ILLUMINAT provides full support and service for the AERIN wireless network. Our product assists you in cost-effectively and securely transferring data to and from any of your locations - from busy city areas to remote and "roving" locations.

AERIN links can be rented between any or all of your locations as required, and additional links can be facilitated as this becomes necessary.

In order to set up an AERIN link, each client location requires Subscriber or Customer Premise Equipment (CPE), which comprises:

• Subscriber Transceiver/Antenna
• A Modem with a 10BaseT Ethernet Connection
• Cabling and
• A Virtual Private Network (VPN) Service Unit (an encryption device that promotes security in the transference of data).

In addition, our alliances gives us the expertise to implement "converged private networks", which allow clients to use AERIN to send voice calls and video calls along the same path as normal data. Internet Protocol (IP) is the standard by which information is sent over private networks - be it voice, data or video.

Engineering/ Service Capability

ILLUMINAT's first-class engineering and technical support capability has won us a leadership position in the fast changing data communications arena.

Our highly trained group of engineers, technicians and administrative support staff are actively involved in systems design, implementation and maintenance of AERIN, with the engineering department being directly responsible for network management and security.

We are constantly measuring and improving upon total service cycle time, service levels and escaping defects, to ensure total customer satisfaction.

At, ILLUMINAT we pride ourselves in being technically self-sufficient. We possess one of the most fully equipped, state-of-the-art testing facilities in the region. Furthermore, to ensure we remain au courant with evolving communications technology, our employees continually receive updated technical training.

Network Management

AERIN has a dedicated monitoring station within ILLUMINAT's engineering department.  From this station, our engineers can remotely configure head-end and subscriber equipment, as well as monitor the status of customer links. Should CPE (Subscriber Equipment) failure occur - be it a function of a system, physical or human malfunction/error - an alert is automatically generated at the monitoring station.

Security

Our primary source of security is the VPN Service Unit (SG-5 Security Gateway) at customer locations, which forms part of the CPE. In addition to VPN capacity, these units include NAT and routing capability. The SG-5 utilises the highest level of security commercially available, 3DES/168-bit Data Encryption.
